The pimple ball brings back memories. I was hoping if anyone remembers making a skate board, you would make it with old skates, a wooden carton, usually a soda carton, and put soda caps on it. My question is what did we call it? Was it a skateto and if yes, did I spell it correct.

Thanks

For kicks I took a picture of a pimple ball and put it on some items eg mousepad, magnet, etc. I did it more for a kick to bring back great memories.
You can go to

I collect things of my youth that brings back great memories. Like skate key, drive-in speakers, old siren for your bike you would pull a chain and it would rub on tire and sound just like the police siren, toy soldiers, view master etc. I will soon post them also. Those were the days my friend I thought ...

We played a slight variation of this in Southwest Philly (68th and Buist). It was called Hide the Belt. The person who was "it" would hide the belt and the rest of the group would look for it while given clues by "it" in the form of "you're getting warm" or "you're getting cold." The person who finds the belt has the right to whip all the others until they reached base. That person then became it for the next round.

This game was not much fun for the slow heavy kids since they could not outrun the person with the belt. They would therefore endure multiple hits with the belt. Head shots were not allowed but anywhere else was fair game.

Oh My God!! This list is priceless. I'm pissen pants reading this...too friggin funny. Thx so much for sharing it. I grew up in Soufilly, 9th and Oregon and now live in Florida for the past 27 years. The people here are always making fun of my accent. I love it...I'm proud of my accent and where I came from...Good Ole Soufilly. The best place to grow up. At least, it was when I was a kid.

I'll never forget the first time outside Soufilly that I told a friend I'd "come after ya." She looked petrified. It took me a a minute to realize what that sounds like to an outsider! Saying "it just means I'll pick you up" didn't seem reassuring.

Played this in SW Philly, 65th & Chester neighborhood. It was wall ball, not chink. The slice was known as a "grasscutter" to us.

Found a pimple ball from 70s in good condition in grandmoms basement. Brought me back to games like wire ball, CHINK, and ASS ball. Wonder what cash value is? I know the memories are priceless.

The Pimple Ball was the best ball ever invented...I grew up on the Kensington Streets of Philly and we had games like boxball, stickball, and after the pimples rubbed off on the balls we'd cut them in half and play halfies against the factory buildings that were 10-12 stories high. It was great hitting the halfies on the roof for a Automatic Grand Slam!!! Those were the days my friends...too bad our kids now are so roped into video games...now not living in the City doesn't help as the kids these days are inept to just go outside and play. We need to bring back the oldskool games to these kids like Boxball, Stickball, bottlecaps, Double-Dutch, Hopscotch...these kids need to be outside playing more!!! What I would do to be a kid again these days!!! BRING BACK THE PIMPLE BALL PLEASE!!!!
